  • The new app roll out feels like a Beta test. Why are we forced to provide DOB to avoid the login screen loading just to read the news? Without logging in I can't seem to access basic accessibility settings like dark screen mode, auto rotate which should really sync with phone settings. I can't register without being forced to subscribe to emails as choosing the opt out button greys out proceeding. Links in app take you to a browser white screen instead of dark screen settings. Videos auto play.

  • The March 2024 update has fixed several of the issues that were in the disastrous October 2023 overhaul, but it's still a vastly inferior experience to the old app. Navigation is awkward and not all subsections are available (for example whilst you can now see England, Scotland, Wales and NI, you can't drill down to their regions). You still can't mark favourite sections, but you can mark favourite articles. Using the mobile version of the web site is superior to the new app, but not by much.

  • Update 4/11: black color does not save the app! Agree with all the previous comments relaying to the updated app. BRING BACK THE PREVIOUS VERSION. THIS NEW ONE SUCKS! All the problematic issues: spacing, no search tool, lack of my news, annoying return to the top when opening an embedded video, reduced news articles, etc, etc. Can't stand this app and it use to be my go to world news app. Ditching it today and using the website instead since that at least does not appear to have lost integrity!

  • I've been using the BBC app for countless years. Recently, the interface was updated and it became horrible.. Still, I continued using the app in the hope it would be reverted back to the older and way more useful layout considering the endless one star reviews. Well, they updated it and it's even MORE horrendous! I'm done. Goodbye once excellent news source.

  • The quality of the news itself is impeccable. But since the update a few months ago this went from one of my favorite news apps to least favorite. The 'My News' feature was helpful for following certain topics and should be brought back. It should be easier for me to see new news about specific topics and also follow certain writers.

  • I used to love the BBC News app until I installed the previous update so jumped in and installed the new version as soon as possible, thought it had to be better than the last version... I quickly found out that I was wrong and it's now worse. Now prompted to create an account evert time I open it, still have to go back to the main page to open the next story, still unable to select areas of news that interest me. Thank god that the sky news app is still usable. Don't install new app
