  • Over 300 updates. That is the level of commitment by the developers after 4 years since it's release. Growing it, improving it, never relenting on their dedication. The game itself has a bit of a learning curve but is very flexible and fun. A lot of the complaints about difficulties of ship combat or mutiny or whatever are easily mitigated once you understand a bit more of the game. And there are plenty of guides out there. Be warned it is addictive. Highly recommended.

  • I love this game and have played it, and the original star traders, for years. Controls are intuitive, artwork is well done, good storyline, and so on. So why is my rating 4 stars? One reason and, sadly, it's a biggie in my book. The game doesn't seem to save unlock progress. I got a new phone and, even after I logged into Google play, my previous unlock progress didn't seem to be saved. As such, I'm now stuck backtrack just to get some of my favorite content back. Good game, frustrating issue.

  • I've played a lot of space games, for every 25 I probably like... One. This qualifies. There's no rush unlike some games where time progresses whether you're playing it or not. The factions feel politically different and there doesn't seem to be a clear right or wrong, so you can make your own decisions about who to help or not. Overall I give it a 9/10. Only lacking in alien races and graphically it's not the greatest. Minor complaints for me though.

  • I'm just starting to play and I'm impressed by the setup and dialogue. I'd like to give 4 stars or more (still checking it out), but one thing I noticed is a big problem. The dialogue screen on the first mission, where you can meet contacts, has things you say to them to start the conversation. The princess' dialogue is obscured partially by the HUD. Two options, back and map block the conversation context.

  • I have enjoyed several of the Trese Brothers' games, but this is by far my favorite. It has the feel of the old wing commander: Privateer game, but with way more career options and skill paths (and, admittedly, no dogfighting, but I don't really miss that.) I have installed it multiple times on my phone, and then later had to uninstall it for a while because it was so addicting it was keeping me from other stuff I was supposed to be doing. So, I guess there's that to beware of. :-)

  • The game is solid, and it's very, very in depth for an Android title. My low rating is due to the lack of any way to transfer your save between devices. The no-longer-reliable Helium Backup referenced on their site is not a reasonable solution. For a game that requires as much time as this seems to the lack of a supported way to transfer your save is a complete dealbreaker.
