Pokémon GO Players can Unlock Exclusive Rewards During the 2024 World Championships

This month, Pokémon GO players have a unique opportunity to earn new Timed Research rewards by tuning into the 2024 Pokémon GO World Championships on Twitch. To participate, players must watch the live broadcast and quickly redeem special codes, which will only be active for a few days.

Now in its eighth year, Pokémon GO continues to thrive, thanks to Niantic's steady stream of updates and limited-time events. The 2024 Pokémon GO World Championships is the next major event, offering a variety of rewards for players who tune in over the weekend, even if they're not attending in person.

Niantic has announced that exclusive Timed Research codes will be available as Twitch Drops for viewers who watch at least 30 minutes of the World Championships livestream between Friday, August 16, at 9:00 a.m. HST, and Monday, August 19, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. HST. Specifically, players can earn two Timed Research codes by watching on August 16 and 17, with a third code available by watching official Pokémon GO co-streamers on August 18 and 19.

First Code:

Watch the Twitch stream to earn the "Pokémon World Champion" Timed Research. This code grants access to a special Timed Research event featuring an Elite Charged TM and an encounter with a Sableye with the Fast Attack Shadow Claw and Charged Attack Foul Play. Players at level 31 and above who redeem this code will also receive an additional Candy XL for completing three-star Shadow Raids, including Shadow Sableye as one of the raid Pokémon.

Second Code:

Tune into official Pokémon GO co-streamers to earn the "Team Building: Great League" Timed Research. This code offers three team options with guaranteed Pokémon encounters. Players can choose from:

Team Option 1: Dunsparce, Mantine, and Pancham

Team Option 2: Galarian Weezing, Skorupi, and Chespin

Team Option 3: Jigglypuff, Shellos, and Inkay Additionally, players will receive 8,500 Stardust.

Third Code:

The final Timed Research code rewards a special World Championships 2024 Pikachu, with a chance for it to be a shiny variant. Additional rewards are included but yet to be announced. Timed Research tasks typically offer extra Pokémon encounters, so be on the lookout for potential bonuses.

Remember, all three codes must be redeemed by August 26, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. UTC, and each code can only be used once.

In addition to these rewards, Pokémon GO players can also participate in a global celebration event. A separate limited-time code will unlock the 2024 Worlds Tee (White) for in-game avatars. For those attending the Pokémon GO 2024 World Championships in Honolulu, a local Timed Research will provide a scavenger hunt experience around the Hawaii Convention Center.
